If you have numismatic literature for sale, please contact: Wayne Homren
Numismatic literature buyers generally fall into one of two categories: researcher or bibliophile. Researchers are serious students of numismatics and seek material to satisfy their research needs; for them, condition is not as important as content, and reprints are welcome. Bibliophiles collect literature as items in themselves; this group is more interested in original editions, fine bindings, and condition. We gladly purchase both types of literature. |
We are interested in buying books, periodicals, catalogs
and other material relating to coins, medals, tokens, or paper money.
Related areas include engraving, counterfeiting, bank history, and lotteries.
We also perform appraisals of numismatic libraries for individual and institutional
clients. Contact:
What Don't You Buy? As specialists
we buy virtually anything but the commonest material related to our topic
area. Since there are tens of thousands of items of possible interest,
it is far easier for us to list what we DON'T buy. Some of
the most commonly seen items are listed below:
Anything Else? We purchase more than just books; other items such as original manuscripts, receipts, and correspondence relating to numismatic topics are always of interest. Often these items are the first thrown away in an estate, but can sometimes be very desirable to researchers and collectors. How Much Do You Pay? Our buying price is affected by many factors, including the state of the overall numismatic market and the specific needs of our active clients. Other important factors include research value, rarity, and condition, condition, condition! Bibliophiles are increasingly fussy about condition, and this can have a great effect on value. Be sure to describe condition as accurately as possible when you list items for sale. Our buying prices range from under a dollar apiece for bulk periodicals to several hundred dollars for rare and important books. We purchase anything from single items to entire libraries. What About Shipping Costs? Most booksellers state their asking price; these quotes should include the cost of shipping. When we are asked to offer a price for an item, we quote values including shipping. It is the responsibility of the item's owner to estimate reasonable shipping costs and adjust price accordingly. Be aware that the value of very common items may make it uneconomical to ship them. Contact: To sell numismatic literature,
